FabricCable.co.uk was founded in 2010 by Stan & Sophie from Urban Cottage Industries

Known by many different names (eg.'textile sleeved', 'cloth covered', 'braided cordsets' or 'woven wire') we call it Fabric Cable and we got hooked on it through our original business, Historic Lighting. Our customers wanted bright, bold colours and non-twisted fabric cable but Historic Lighting is not allowed to get funky so we built this site instead.

We carry more than 20 kilometres of fabric cable in stock and supply to designers, architects, artists, manufacturers, wholesalers and the general public. For fabric lighting cord and electrical cable orders up to 25m please buy via the Fabric Cable Web Shop. The Green Stuff (ie. the environment, not cash)

The biggest preventable cause of waste in the lighting industry is crap design. Too many lighting products date quickly or get 'found out' as being not up to the job. Our classic fabric lighting cord and electrical cable is never truly fashionable, never truly unfashionable and has the legs to last for ever.

Unlike many other suppliers our fabric cable products are manufactured in Europe, in proper working conditions - the ones our forebears fought hard - and sometimes died - to establish. You are welcome to come and look around our manufacturing location, we guarantee you will like what you see. We package our fabric cable using recycled paper and card. We don't use any polythene wrappings, packaging or tapes - so everything is easy and efficient to recycle.
